Yeah for Young Adult fiction once again.
The Lightning Thief is a fantasy/adventure novel which uses the concepts of ancient Greek mythology in a modern setting. It is written in a fast-paced humorous style.
Mookie has been trying to get me to read this series for several years. When I finally sat down to read it a few months ago. He stole it from me and read it again. I finally got it back and read it this weekend. He is right it is a great book for youth and adults alike. I cannot wait to read the second, third, fourth (if I can find where he hides them).
BTW: A movie version will be released in February, so get reading.
