My Mountain

 

In Terms of the most Majestic, or Spectacular mountains in the world. I am fully aware that Mr. Timp., impressive as he is, is not at the top.

 

When you compare him to, say, The Colorado Rockies, or The Grand Tetons you might think he falls short.

Let's not forget that Timp. has a big brother here in our own valley, just to the south who is taller then he is, and is watching him day in and day out. Nebo is the big brother who loves and encourages everyone - kind of mountain.

Yes, after many years of living here I have come to know the personalities of the Mountain family that rings our valley. Do not lecture me about it , or think me off my rocker, JRR Tolken is still making money, years after he has passed on, with those Talking Tree Guys.

Timp has a calm masculine energy, and he's very fierce, and protective. The Cascades in between the brothers, are a group of noisy, yakety -yak sisters, lots of feminine energy flowing from that range to the east.  The Brothers have their hands full with those girls.

 

This is the simple reason that even though he is not the grandest in the world, or the most impressive mountain you may ever see in your life time. He is and always will be my favorite. My Grandpa gave him to me.

He protects me, makes me smile, breathe a sigh of relief on a ruff day, and nourish's my soul. Every really, rotten, no good day of my life all I have had to do is look up. He is there gently reminding me to remember that HE who created him, also created me. When I think that God took the time to create this beautiful Mountain just to bring me happiness.  Then I know God will take time to help me to find that beauty inside me also.
